Straight Talk to Common Objections
Does This List of 15 Objections Sound Like You?
1. “I never thought that RE/MAX would last!”
RE/MAX is privately owned by Dave and Gail Liniger and celebrated their 30th business anniversary in 2003. There are over 120,000 sales associates. All these associates can’t be wrong!
2. “I’m not good enough for RE/MAX!”
You don’t have to be a superstar! RE/MAX is made up of average people who started out just like you. By having control of their business production, it became easier to excel. If you want to be a superstar, the benefits of being a “RE/MAXER” makes it easier to get to the top.
3. “I don’t have enough cash to join, pay expenses, etc.!”
The cost to be at RE/MAX is less than you think. Most agents don’t realize what it is costing – out of pocket – to be where they are now. Besides, at The Home Center, we offer splits plansto help you feel comfortable until your cash flow is up to speed. Then you are at a 95% split on everything you sell.
4. “I don’t want to hurt my Broker’s feelings! He/She has been good to me! I owe him/her for all the time that was spent with me! When I need a loan, I was advanced money!”
These objections are real ones. We understand that feeling of loyalty and admire you for it. We, too, are looking for loyal people. However, the decision to join RE/MAX – The Home Center, is a business decision that you are making, that is in your best interest. You will be spending your time, effort and money building your own business fortunes for you and your family’s interest. Ask any RE/MAX agent if they regretted leaving their old company, or, if they would go back to a traditional company?
5. “The bills are too high! I won’t be able to keep up!”
Are you actually paying more now than you will here for the services that you are getting? In general, let us explain a few benefits that we, here at The Home Center, have developed for our sales people (see list) that have made it easier to do more business and keep more of the dollars.
6. “Fear of change and/or fear of failure.”
Most of us are “afraid” of change. However, opportunity is something for which we all strive. Everyone who has ever switched over to RE/MAX has had the same feelings. We all know how you feel; therefore we stand ready to help you make that short transition. Usually after the first 2-5 weeks, agents see the benefits and start to feel the magic. We’re all here to see that you don’t fail.
7. “I’m just happy where I am. I am comfortable!”
We believe most agents are “happy” and we believe that you will be happy here too! We’ll bet that you’ll be happier! And comfortable. Are you really comfy losing sign or ad calls? Are you comfy leaving 30%, 40% or 50% of your earnings on someone else’s table? Are you comfy with your present retirement plan? Are you meeting your personal goals? Are you growing your business?
8. I hear that RE/MAXERS “eat their young!”
Wrong. Successful agents do not need to steal ad calls or walk-ins or to go after other associates’ business. 9. It costs thousands to join RE/MAX!
Wrong. We prepare your “get started kit” (signs, cards, stationery, intro letters, intro ads, desk area, etc.) and pay for it!
10. RE/MAX is too big!
Right. We are the biggest in the world. But you never get lost! At all times you, the individual, is always emphasized. On your sign, on your cards, in your ads. The Company’s size only portrays the image and reputation of “the best”, like Coke or Pepsi, or Mercedes!
11. No one has fun at RE/MAX!
Wrong. We not only have a bunch of great social events year round, including your awards nights. We work as a team helping each other. We will community stuff too, like support a Little League Team, participate in the Susan B. Koman "Race for the Cure", building a home for Habitat For Humanity… all as a team. 12. There are hidden costs at RE/MAX!
Wrong. We let you know all your costs up front in writing.
13. There isn’t any manager to help me at RE/MAX. What if I need help?
Wrong. When we are fully staffed, at The Home Center you’ll have two! A manager and Sharon, plus a full time administrator, a receptionist seven days a week, a bookkeeper, on-site attorney, a fully staffed mortgage company, a fully staffed insurance company and other support services to help you with any questions that you may have.
14. “I’ve got this fear that I’ll lose business if I move, especially in a market slump!”
Wrong. It is just the opposite! When you move, your enthusiasm and activity levels will increase with your promotion as a RE/MAXER. Fear not, your business and sphere of influence will follow you. They like you now … and they’ll like and congratulate you on the new address. Our new agent orientation helps you jumpstart your business to a higher level. Slump? … Just remember that the success of our agents has been that the flexibility of the RE/MAX concept allows each associate to put together more transactions, which puts nearly twice as many dollars in your pocket; therefore, if a slump knocks off 10-20-30% or more, you’re still ahead of where you are now!
15. “It is really a hassle to move!” “I’m too busy right now!” “This is the wrong time for me!” It’s always a hassle to pack up and move … ask all your past home buyers … also ask them if they were happy once they got settled. And, it’s never a good time to move – we all can talk ourselves out of that! And certainly we’re always too busy! However, quite simply, that added advantage and extra income being a RE/MAXER at The Home Center PAYS FOR THE AGGRAVATION!
Maybe RE/MAX is not for you … but then again maybe it is!
The only way to know is to get the facts firsthand.
YOU CAN AFFORD TO BE AT RE/MAX!
The only real question is…
“can you afford not to be?”
